Awards and Scholarships

GENERAL INFORMATION

BC Awards Online provides information on a variety of opportunities for Grade 12 students entering post-secondary institutions. While it contains extensive entries, it is not possible to list all the scholarships, bursaries and awards which come from private donors, foundations, industries, associations, organizations and government agencies. Students need to check with their employers, their parents' employers, their coaches and their associations. Note that awards pertaining to only one school are not included in BC Awards Online. Students should check with their School Scholarship Representative regarding awards specific to their school.

In addition to awards available to students throughout the province, BC Awards Online includes information on awards for students in particular districts, where those districts have provided the information to be included in the database.

Students should also inquire about student loans, tuition assistance, bursary funds, work-study and co-op programs. Information on student loans is available at the B.C. Student Assistance Program website or by phoning 387-6100 or 1-800-561-1818.

Students should contact the post-secondary institution they are planning to attend to obtain a calendar or check the institution’s website for its calendar and information on bursary programs and other financial assistance. The Awards from Other B.C. Post-Secondary Institutions section of BC Awards Online includes links to awards information for all B.C. public post-secondary institutions.
